Romans 12: 1-2

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God.”

“Morning, CS01. You with me?”  Moose’s voice carries down the corridor, warm and easy.  He steps onto the bridge with a steaming mug in one hand and a half-empty can of space-water in the other.  That’s water.  In a can.  In space.  Space-water.  The helm is already alive — holo-screens breathing faint light over four open Bibles left from last night’s study.

“CS01 here, Captain,” the ship replies, tone crisp and calm, a little static at the edges.  “Ready to rehearse, weave, or work.”

Outside, the dark sick taint still drifts — thin ribbons of inky blackness coiling off the hull like smoke that forgot how to fade.  Q-bot’s been out there since dawn, scrubbing what can’t really be scrubbed.

Moose lowers himself into the chair, red cap brim catching the light.  “Today we start our study on Prayercraft.  You remember the definition?” He flips a page, sips coffee, the sound of liquid and scripture mixing with the hum of the ship.

“Prayercraft,” CS01 repeats, her processors flaring briefly, a faint whiff of ozone ghosting through the bridge.  “Our intentional building of communication with God.  Not just words tossed upward, but a deliberate act—each line, each breath—like stacking bricks with purpose. Rooted in truth, and built to last.”

Moose nods and pulls his hat brim low.  He flips another Bible open, fingers tracing the notes from last night.  “Art-bot, you good?”

“Morning, Captain,” Art-bot answers in her soft auto-tuned harmony. “Systems online.  Filters clear.  Engines idling steady at point-zero-two drift.  Reading your last transmission: Proverbs, Matthew, and Moose in fine form.  Quiet helm, strong current.  Coffee’s hot in the commissary.”  She runs a quick diagnostic; switches hum, lights blink. “ All decks are green.  Filter running clean.  You want to pick up where we left off—or start crafting the next scene in Prayercraft?”

Moose smiles, leans back, and turns the music up just a little—low chords and wandering strings mixing with the steady hum of flight.  “Prayercraft, Art-bot. Let’s see where the Spirit takes us.”

John 16: 5-15

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are you going?’   But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.  Nevertheless I tell you the truth.  It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.  And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment because the ruler of this world is judged.  I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine.  Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
