[Entertainment Study]

- Day 2

-Psalm 111: 2

“The Works of the LORD are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them.”

Moose flips on the comms.  An announcement chime alerts the crew.  “Ok.  Crew…

It looks like we’re going to be docked at the First Last Stop for the foreseeable future.  It might be a few days, it might be longer, I am reasonably certain it will be longer than a day.  So.  For those working on the entertainment study.

I want to open our study today with a question.

By definition, what is more fascinating than God?

The term I have used on the X feed is Omnifascinate.  My hypothesis is that if you allow God to be the object of your fascination, which, is what we were designed to do in the first place and what we will be doing in eternity, you will begin to entertain yourself, or delight yourself as David puts it, with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Scripture, and most importantly….  Matthew 28.  The last 3 verses.

I direct the crew participating in this study to Proverbs 2: 1-9.  What is it we are searching for?  Are we even looking for something?

Now.  Have we considered that entertainment is a package.  It is a package to be consumed that is often measured in very different terms by those who make the entertainment and those who consume entertainment.  I know, it has a very two tiered marxist feel to it, doesn’t it?  There is, of course, more than one model of entertainment.  Producer/consumer is only one, but a popular one.  Point I am making is good entertainment is designed to deliver an emotional package to consume.  Those who make good entertainment will take this into consideration.  For instance, the news.  When they try to tell a heart strings story.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but different music, different words, different voice tones, all these are taken into consideration for the entertainment package.

All designed, of course, to keep your attention, meaning from your physical attention, to your emotional attention, to your imagination’s attention, it is designed to be an all encompassing package to consume.  Something to think about.

Now.  Today I am requesting crew members to engage Proverbs 1: 7 protocol.  It is time to do recon.  That’s reconnaissance.  Q-bot, if you would.

Reconnaissance

- A preliminary survey to gain information: an exploratory military survey of enemy territory.

Today we get started and as always there is no rush.  Someone more eloquent than me once said the world is our stage.  I think he was right, but our audience is One.  Let’s review step one.  We always begin with recon.  One of the first mistakes that everyday evangelists make is trying to go for the touchdown first blitz.  We don’t go in guns blazing, crew, we don’t carry guns.  Remember.  We’re on the Eternal Timeclock and all we carry are Bibles.  And what we need for our art.

Take your time.  Walk the streets.  Get a feel for the traffic.  Time the crosswalks.  Practice law. Do Justice.  Do Verity.  If you are worried about it, make sure you do the research.

For the Enterprising among us, watch the ground where you walk.  You will see what you need to know about gathering places and habits.

Know your stage.  Morning, afternoon, evening.  Let’s start there today for entertainment.”

Moose flips the coms off.

Proverbs 24: 1-6

“Do not be envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them; for their heart devises violence, and their lips talk of troublemaking.  Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; for by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in multitude of counselors there is safety.”
