Job 40: 1-14
“Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said: ‘Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes Go, let him answer it.’ Then Job answered the LORD and said: ‘Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth. Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.’ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: ‘Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me: Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified? Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His? Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and array yourself with glory and beauty. Disperse the rage of your wrath; look on everyone who is proud, and humble him. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low; tread down the wicked in their place. Hide them in the dust together, bind their faces in hidden darkness. Then I will also confess to you that your own right hand can save you.”
Moose flips on the music, then flips on the coms.
“Crew. Good job with the fear of the LORD study. I’m hoping you found Truth. This week we are going to continue the theme we’ve been studying.” Moose wrinkles his nose and squints, turning a few pages in his Bible.
Psalm 111: 2
“The Works of the LORD are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them.”
“The core of our study will be in John 14, 15, 16, and 17. It will be titled ‘An Introduction To Living With The Holy Spirit’. Please prepare yourself with James 1 if necessary. For the Enterprising crew following along, add in James 3 today. Always a good backdrop to keep in mind.
My humble suggestion is to read the James first today, do an overall read of the chapters in John tonight and that will get you ready for the week’s work we’ll be doing. The real life context is going to be recon still. And let’s not forget…” He flips a few more pages in his Bible and reads…
Matthew 5: 3-12
“Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
