Psalm 111: 2
“The Works of the LORD are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them.”
“Ok. Crew. This is the truth section of today’s study. What book of the Bible do we study and why? This is the question I want to start us with. If you are following along with the podcast, you might have heard me talking about choosing between several books for my own study. I mentioned 2 Corinthians, Judges, and Ezekiel. Daniel was mentioned in there as well.
The point is, I do not aimlessly go into studying the Bible. Sometimes I just open my Bible and see where I land and get started there. But most of the time, when there is a real life shift, a big one of consequence, like Marxistologists taking control of the helm of the First Last Stop, then I think, with Jesus, on what Scripture would be relevant to study.
Judges 1 & 2 has an interesting start. The Israelites, with God, are pushing forward with their military campaign into the Promised Land. Their orders were clear. Clear the land of the inhabitants. No compromise. They compromised so God became angry. A generalization. As we can see, an interesting similarity to America. And The First Last Stop.
Ezekiel was boots on the ground prophet with the captivity. One of the things I find interesting about Ezekiel is his prophetic symbolism. I find prophetic symbolism, in general, incredibly interesting. Some prophets symbolically married unfaithful wives to symbolize the adultery of Israel as a nation. Ezekiel laid on his side for some time as well as a few other interesting things that might be called artistic protest if you thought about it a bit.
For the Enterprising Crew joining me on this journey, we will be choosing Judges, Ezekiel, and Daniel to look at three separate views of surviving political changes. Judges will teach us about how God deals with a people that bears His Name that is drifting away. Ezekiel will show us how God Works with a prophet among the captives who have forgotten Him. Daniel will show us how to stay strong from within a politically adverse environment.
Romans 12 is suggested as background. Romans 13.
Joshua 1: 1-9
“After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: ‘Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise go over this Jordan, ou and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them- the children of Israel. Every place that the whole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. From eh wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you Amy observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you Amy prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you Amy observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
