[Truth]
2 Corinthians 13: 5
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you are disqualified.”
And…
Galatians 6: 1-10
“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load. Let him who is taught the Word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
There are times we wait. While we are waiting for the Lord, we always make sure those times are filled with waiting upon the Lord. When in doubt?
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
It is hard to go wrong with reading Scripture, that turns just about any moment into an Eternal one. I have a challenge for the Enterprising crew following the Truth study. When you have finished the fear of the LORD study, here is the challenge. Take your Bible out with you in public. I don’t mean wave it around like a weapon. I mean, put it in your bag and take it with you. Pay close attention to the steps you go through. This is a much more difficult challenge than it seems at face value.
If you want to challenge yourself even more, if you want to jump right off into the deep end, bring your Bible with you in public and then bring it out. Not to wave around like a weapon, just to read. In public. Because you can. Why don’t you? Right? I asked myself that question. So now I bring it with me wherever I go. Just in case.
Something to think about.
