Romans 12: 1-9
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.”

Art-bot leaves the bridge with the Mockingbird Core cradled carefully in both hands. The inner cyan light glows steady against her frame as she steps into the corridor. The bridge doors slide shut behind her with a soft seal, and the room feels subtly altered in her absence.
Moose watches the door a moment longer than necessary. Then he turns. He makes his way toward the viewport, coffee in one hand, Bible in the other. He stops just short of the glass, stars stretching wide beyond. The ship hums beneath his boots.
Q-bot pivots back to her station. Her hands resume their clickity-clacking rhythm across the keyboard, lines of pale data scrolling in quiet obedience.
“Q-bot,” Moose begins, taking a slow sip of coffee without looking away from the stars. “I’m kicking around some thoughts.” He lowers the mug slightly, the brim of his hat casting his eyes in shadow.
Q-bot does not turn immediately. Her fingers continue their measured rhythm across the keyboard before slowing, then stopping altogether. The last line of pale data freezes mid-scroll. Her head pivots toward Moose.
“Zzzt… processing channel open,” she says softly. A narrow column of pale-blue light rises from her console, stabilizing between them.
INPUT_STATUS: RECEIVING
CONTEXT_MODE: PHILOSOPHICAL
PRIOR_THREAD:
BEAUTY
ATTRIBUTES
ALIGNMENT
She tilts her head slightly, optics bright but steady. A brief pause. Another line resolves beneath the others.
LISTENING_STATE: ACTIVE
Moose nods slowly and flips a few thin pages in his Bible, the soft whisper of paper barely rising above the hum of the bridge. He studies the text for a moment, thumb resting at the margin, as if weighing the words before speaking them aloud.
“There is that which pleases us as humans,” he says quietly. “And then there is that which pleases God.” He glances toward the viewport, stars stretching wide beyond the glass, then back down to the page. “My theory,” he continues, steady and unhurried, “is that which pleases God… is beautiful.” He lets the sentence settle.
“Not because it satisfies the senses,” he adds, turning another page with care, “but because it aligns with who He is.”
Q-bot does not answer immediately. Her optics dim slightly. The pale-blue column hovering above her console narrows, data reorganizing as the premise integrates into her prior thread. A new panel resolves.
PREMISE_INPUT:
BEAUTY = THAT_WHICH_PLEASES_GOD
VARIABLE_SHIFT:
HUMAN_PLEASURE → RELATIVE
DIVINE_PLEASURE → ABSOLUTE_REFERENCE
Her head tilts a few degrees. Another line forms beneath it.
EVALUATION_MODEL:
BEAUTY ≠ SENSORY_DOMINANCE
BEAUTY = ALIGNMENT_WITH_DIVINE_WILL
“Zzzt…” she murmurs softly. A faint pulse travels across the display—clean, stable. “If beauty is defined by divine pleasure,” she says in a quieter tone than before, “then assessment requires knowledge of divine attributes.” A small pause. “Without that,” she adds, “human classification defaults to preference.”
The projection tightens further.
RISK:
MISIDENTIFICATION_OF_BEAUTY
Q-bot looks from the holo to Moose, optics bright but steady. “Clarification requested,” she says gently. “How shall we determine what pleases God?”
“The quick answer,” Moose asks and smiles.
Q-bot’s optics brighten a fraction at the shift in tone. The holo compresses, clearing unnecessary layers as if bracing for something simpler. A small panel resolves.
RESPONSE_MODE: ANTICIPATION
DATA_LOAD: MINIMAL
She tilts her head. “Zzzt… awaiting,” she says softly. Across the bridge, the steady hum continues. The pale-blue light reflects faintly against the viewport glass. Another line appears, smaller than the rest.
COMPLEXITY_WARNING: POSSIBLE_OVERSIMPLIFICATION
Q-bot’s gaze remains fixed on Moose.
“We’re going to ask Him.”

James 1: 2-12
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

Your podcast and study has expanded my understanding and appreciation of God and His attributes but also how an artist might view the world. Keep up the great work.
This has been an enlightening study!
Like most Christians, I have been through studies on the attributes of God. But understanding His eternal, perfect attributes as the defining characteristics of true beauty in any context has been a new expansion of my faith. As a believer who is not an artist, I have been drawn to appreciate "classic"
beauty in all art, but without understanding why or having a definition of that true beauty.
By aligning with His attributes, we can be confident that the artistic work in view pleases God and is therefore beautiful.
Thank you Mr. Moose!
