Morning!

Raises his cup of coffee

Supernatural (Adjective):

• Of or relating to an order of existence beyond the visible, observable universe.

• Departing from what is usual or normal, appearing to transcend the laws of nature; attributed to an invisible agent (such as a ghost or spirit).

We live in a supernatural world.  A world where spirits exist.  Where immaterial creatures of otherworldly grandeur stand before the throne of God, while demons and the Devil torment humanity.  As Christians, we are meant to interact with the supernatural every day, because we are given the Holy Spirit as our companion.

So, how often do we talk about these things?

James 1:2-8

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

If we are seeking spiritual wisdom—if we truly want to understand the supernatural world—is it not the Holy Spirit we should ask?

How does the Holy Spirit teach us?

What have been our experiences with the Holy Spirit?

Ecclesiastes 5:1-7

“Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.  Do not be rash with your mouth, and let not your heart utter anything hastily before God.  For God is in heaven, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.  For a dream comes through much activity, and a fool’s voice is known by his many words.  When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools.  Pay what you have vowed—Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.  Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error.  Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands?  For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity.  But fear God.”

Today, I am renewing my efforts to chronicle the Holy Spirit’s work in my life.

So, let’s start here:

Matthew 22:37-40

“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
